Well, there is another way of doing the QuickLaunch bar trick. This other trick is permanent. Mine is permanent but I don't remember how I did it.

Here is the official guide setup here on the forum in case it can help you :

Alright.
I think I remember. It's worth a try.
1. Create a folder and name it whatever you like.
2. Put all your shortcuts into the folder. Includes desktop.scf
3. Right click on the taskbar, toolbar, then New Toolbar.
4. Select your folder
5. It should appear on the right like Jacee's.

Try to reboot now. If after the reboot the toolbar is still there, your problem is fixed. otherwise, I have no idea.

That's not the solution. I have the same problem, but I want to have both - language bar and quicklaunch bar, I need to switch between languages and to see easily what language I'm currently using. And I just love quicklaunch. How to "eat the cake and have the cake"?

Quick Launch bar
MS seem to have decided that their "pin applications to the taskbar" feature is a much better solution than the Quick Launch bar - otherwise surley they would not have annoyed all those who have been using the Quick Launch bar for years by removing it... I am getting used to the new taskbar in...

Quick Launch Bar
I heard that the Quick Launch Bar has been removed in Windows 7. I sure hope that isn't true. Maybe someone will write a third party app to replace it. I use it over a hundred times a day. I would miss it greatly.
