Got it - you've been looking for a while and probably tried what I'm finding. I don't want to waste either of our time.

Ok partner, I'm hitting the dusty trail. I at least confirmed that Home is lacking group policy editor.

Thanks and Good luck!

Welcome to Seven Forums cxl018. If you want to try one (or 2) more things? Try to re-register shimgvw.dll

Start> In search box type run> Enter> in run box type regsvr32 shimgvw.dll> Enter

If you get an error that the registration failed, then try downloading the dll file and manually change it in the C:\Windows\System32 folder.

Here is the file from my system

Attachment 213773

Navigate to System32 and rename the original shimgvw.dll to shimgvw.dll.bak, or shimgvw.dll.old. Now copy the new file to System32 and try to register it again

regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

Or

regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll

If no fix, you can either keep the new dll, or delete it and rename the old one back. Good luck. A Guy

Hi A Guy,

Looks promising. I got the error message "the module shimgvw.dll was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found."

I replaced it with the file from your computer. Same error message.

Still searching for error message regarding "entry-point dllregisterserver". so far no luck.

Thanks for the help!
