Windows 7: Changing mouse click behaviour in taskbar

Changing mouse click behaviour in taskbar

Is there a way to stop the left-mouse click on a button in the taskbar from minimising that button's window if it's already in focus?

The problem is, I play a game which crashes when minimised, and I'm always clicking the game taskbar button by mistake when I swap between game, Internet browser, spreadsheets, and other programs and files.

What I'd like is simply to keep a window in focus when you click the taskbar button.

Thanks for your help
