Im using windows 7 ultimate 32bit latest updates and also take ownership from this link.
The problem is, take ownership not showing for explorer.exe. How to fix this?
Thank you.
Welcome to the Seven Forums
From the tutorial you used
Look at post #6 Basic Networking Information it will show you how to Take ownership and give yourself permissions of system files (.dll, .exe, ect.)Application files, (EX: BAT, CMD, CPL, EXE, and MSC) will still have Run as administrator instead of Take Ownership in the context menu.
Jerry
or u can just use cmd:
1. navigate to directory or file to take ownership of (for entire computer cd C:\)
2. TAKEOWN /F [FILENAME] /R /D Y - put * as filename if u want all the files and folders in the directory
3. Wait till it is finished.
MAKE SURE U RUN CMD AS ADMINISTRATOR FOR BEST RESULTS!
@bongo thanks, it worked.
@retrix thanks, but i prefer not to mess with cmd
