    Custom desktop watermark

    Hi

I am trying to set windows to display a custom message where the build info would usually be located on the desktop (if it's enabled)

Show Your Desired Text on Desktop by Customizing Windows Vista & 7 Watermark (Build Number Info) - Tweaking with Vishal

I followed that guide and it worked for the current user...presumably because the registry key is in the current user section.

Is there an easy way to make sure the message is displayed on any new user accounts created?

    No...

You ether have to make the same changes to every single account or you can write a script that will do this automatically

Managed to load the NTuser.dat file from the default user folder and edited the PaintDesktopVersion key so it now displays for all new users. Was having trouble as it wasn't working on the laptop I was using but I tried on a different machine and it does it properly.
