How to Alphabetize the start menu?

Has anyone figured out how to alphabetize the start menu? When I go to properties > customize > Sort all programs by name Nothing happens.

Do you mean the menu that first appears when you click Start? If so, can't be done.

I assume you want to integrate the file shortcuts with the Program Folder shortcuts?

those programs which appear when you first click the start button are your most used applications.

this list is dynamic, and so it will not stay sorted over time.

you can choose to 'pin' shortcuts to the start-menu, when they go into a special section at the top.
