Windows 7 x64 Context Menu Editing for Files AND Folders

I am trying to remove several context menu items for some file types AND folders. I've noticed that the right-click context menus differ depending on the file type, and also the folder type, depending on what type of files are in the folder. I've search far and wide, and have not been able to find software that will let me edit the menus. I've tried ShellExView and ShellMenuView but they don't list any of the menu items I'm looking for. I've tried every other software I could find. Does anyone insight into this? Is it impossible to remove certain items?

Thanks!

Hello badadjective,

What context menu items are you wanting to remove?

For now, look under Context Menu...... in our tutorial index link below to see if any of the listed items may be what you are wanting to remove.

Specifically, I am trying to remove some, but not all, Windows Media Player, VLC, and Winamp context menu items for some file types and folders. I use different media players for different things, so currently my context menus are crowded. Every piece of software I've tried doesn't show these entries. Thank you for the link, the guides do not address my specific problem, however.

You might also check in the 3rd party program settings to see if there may be an option to remove them from the context menu.

Context menu to toggle the hidden flag on files and folders?
I know there's a context menu entry to show/hide hidden files. But is there one that makes/unmakes the file/folder hidden? Going to a file/folder's properties just to change it is a bit of a hassle (esp. on shortcut files). Just in case I wasn't clear (or my wording was a bit confusing),...

Editing the Taskbar/Toolbars Context Menu
This is to do with the Taskbar Right-Click Context Menu and the submenu Toolbars. Here I created 2 new toolbars called ‘Desktop’, the second by accident, and I would like to remove one of them from the list so it's not duplicated there. I think it might be a matter of editing the entries...

Editing and Adding Custom Context Menu Options
I've been trying to find if there's a way in Explorer to select multiple folders, and open them in a single window that shows all contents of those folders combined. Any knowledge of such a thing? I've found a few posts about it but nothing seems to be relevant to what's available to me in...

Any way to reorder the context menu for files/folders?
I have several context menu options from various programs (WinRAR, 7zip, VLC, Winamp, etc... ) and I'd like to put them in my own order. The order they are in by default seems arbitrary. Any programs or ways to do this?
