Windows 7 Stuck on Basic. Help Please.

For starters let me say I know they are probably thousands of different threads on things related to Aero its just they seem to say all the same things and they aren't working.

the problem that i have is that yesterday my Aero theme just switched off i think it was after I used tdsskiller tool from Kaspersky but not 100% sure. I've been searching for a fix on Google and everything I do doesn't really work.
I've followed this tutorial - How to enable Windows 7 Aero theme? and different ones in these forums and still nothing works.
I am unable to even attempt to enable Aero because of this - 4eb225d73b14caca966549e48f643998.png
These are the specs for my PC and the Windows Rating as well

    and

Also on advanced system settings it set Adjust for Best Performance.

also all my Drivers are also up to date.

the Aero troubleshooter doesn't pick up any problems.

Sorry for the jumbled up thread just wrote it as a remembered.

I would really appciate it if anyone could help me out. Thanks.

Looks like you are running on a high contrast theme. In Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization click on the 'Illusions by Josh ... " theme (or on any of the 7 themes that are underneath) and you will be OK.

Did you make any changes to you computer? Hardware/Software?

    First:

    • start
    • type in services
    • scroll down to alphabet D
    • see if Desktop Window Manager Session Manager is Started. If not, start it and see if the aero is working again.

    Second:
You may try a SFC scannow and reboot if it finds violations.
Here's a tut: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I haven't installed any new hardware in a while and the I have installed these recently
Computer Security - Software & Alerts - Secunia - which is to check if programs are up to date.
Ut Video Codec Suite - a new lossless video codec for Windows! - Doom9's Forum - a video codec

and that's all I've installed off the top off my head in the past few weeks

ad i have also restarted desktop window manager multiple times and still nothing has happened.

im going to try the second method you said now.

Try this: Right click on your unsaved high contrast theme ( in Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization ) and save that theme. Then see whether the other themes are accessible. Later you can delete the high contrast theme.

I've tried to do that before and have just tried again but all the other themes are greyed out and aren't accessible apart from the Classic and all the High Contrast themes

I've tried the sfc/scannow about 3 times and have rebooted each time and still hasn't worked. I'm really stuck on what to do now.

Did you try troubleshooting the aero effects?

    • Click on the
    • Type in aero or find and fix troubles with transparency effects and other visual effects follow what the troubleshooter suggests and do as it says.
