I never did C++. C# and VB.NET for me.
I did BASIC, and then started learning C++, then looked at C#.NET and made some programs in that. I want to learn C++ more now, because it seems to be able to provide as a language.

Yes, C++ is definitely the preferred language but it has a steep learning curve.
