    PC-BSD is an OS based on more arcane and robust FreeBSD which in its turn is based on Unix (not Linux, a big difference!). It's currently on version 9.1. If you are accustomed running different Linux distros you have no issues with PC-BSD, the look and feel are so similar.

    KDE is a popular desktop environment for different Unix and Linux based operating systems.
