| | Desktop icon transparency? I doubt there's a way to do this, but can you somehow make the icons on the desktop partially transparent? I just think it would be kind of a cool effect. Like, with the gadgets, you can set their transparency, and when you hover over them, they become fully opaque. That's what I'm looking for. |

| | Object Desktop has an icon app that can do that. I used it in XP. Don't know the compatibility status. |

| | Real World Icon Editor can do this and is compatible with Win 7  Just load your icon file. Then select Effect > Transparency. Use the slider to adjust Alpha. Desktop Icon Toy does have some hover effects but I don't believe opacity is one of them. |
