How to manuallly edit "Date Modified" information?

Running 7x64 up to date.

I like to sort the contents of some folders by "Date Modified," But, I'd also like certain items within that folder to appear in a different order than by date. Is it possible to manually modify the "Date Modified" information, so that the items I wish to appear in that specific order do so?

Thanks as always everyone!

Russell

Hello Russell,

I'm not sure that's possible, but if you like, you coud use the tutorial below to disable auto arrange to be able to arrange the files any order and/or position you like.

Windows Explorer Auto Arrange - Disable

Hope this helps,
Shawn

The folder in question (my music folder) has a LOT of files in it, and only a few I want out of date order. . .so manually ordering them all would be far too much of a task, I'd prefer to just deal with a few out of their chosen order. . .but, thanks!

You will not need to manually arrange them all. You could still set them to be sorted by "Date Modified" again afterwards to have them all sorted the same as they are now, but with auto arrange disabled, you will then be able to drag those few out of order to how you like them instead.
