How do I make my user icon show part of the background picture?

I have set my logon screen to a custom picture and I would like to change my user account icon to show the part of the background it is covering.

Does anyone know how to do that easily without trial and error?

I can post a picture too, if it would help.

Here is my logon screen. As you can see, I have gotten close through trial and error, but I have not gotten it perfect...
