How can I change the open folder icon on start bar?

    Hey,

Never thought of customizing my windows until I stumbled upon this place and then got carried away..

Now there is only one thing that is bothering me and that is highlighted in the pic attached..

Any help would be most welcome.

    Welcome to the forum,

Have you tried the right click on taskbar icon, right click on Windows Explorer in jump list, click on properties, change icon method?

Hey, yeah thats all well and good for changing regular folder icons, but this is when you open a folder and it stacks in the task bar..

Well can you explain what you're trying to do then?

Now there is only one thing that is bothering me and that is highlighted in the pic attached..
All I could see was an arrow pointing at a folder...

    Welcome to the Seven Forums

That may be icon #1023 in the imageres.dll or ICO_MYCOMPUTER.ico in explorer.exe
What opens when you open it, Libraries?

Hi, right ok.. Thanks for the quick replies, sorry its quite late here and I have already had a few beers..

What I am trying to do is change the folder that appears in the task bar once you open any folder anywhere..

e.g. I open Docs or Downloads or a Game folder on C:, whereupon the generic yellow folder appears on the task bar, and so on for any other folder I open (they stack)

I would like to change this folder to match with the icon I am using..

Edit: Oh thanks Bongo, but you say the icon is located in a .dll? Is that easy to edit?

So that is not a pinned icon, it just shows up when you open a folder?

Yep, not a pinned icon, I have changed all of them and pretty much every other icon everywhere..

This only appears when you open a folder, any folder..

I think that is why, since explorer is not pinned already, it is using the default icon when it opens on the taskbar.

Have you tried changing the explorer icon and pinning it to the taskbar?
