    Change taskbar's font color?

Is it possible to easily change the taskbar's font color (buttons + clock)? I can't believe I can have a solid white background with white fonts on it.

Nope, the only item with white font is "Selected Items" and that's not connected. So if I want to change that color I need to modify the aero.msstyles file?

It seems that I have no idea. I even thought your theme was non-Aero. SF has a lot of skinners.. Many are based outside of CONUS. Someone will come along.

Did you test that? I did. Only works in Classic. At least on my machine.

It is not possible - spread the word

Please see this thread How to change taskbar font color from MS Answers.

Note the solution is to use a third party application. Also, note that MS does not support any third party solutions.

Changing the font color in the taskbar is possible....
Registry editing can't get this to work....

Tools that you need : Resource Hacker & a Hex Editor...

I am using Restorator 2007 and a freeware xvi32 Hex Editor....

Takeownership of the aero msstyles in (C:\window\Resources\Themes\Aero\aero.msstyles) if you are using the default style
do a backup just in case.

Open the aero.msstyles with Restorator or any Resource Hacker you're using...
Expand the Variant Folder and save the Normal.res in a place where you can find it.

Ok next come the hex editor, open the Normal.res with vxi32 and press Ctrl+G to bringup the search address & key in 2DC75 in the search box with hexadecimal radio button check
Once you in the right address look for FF FF FF in the correspond row it should be at column 12 13 14, change it to any color you desire and save it.

Note that the color is in Hex code not RGB.. eg if you wanna change to black the code is 00 00 00.

Lastly use Restorator and get the modded file back to aero.msstyles and replace it in C:\window\Resources\Themes\Aero\aero.msstyles

Logoff or restart to see the changes...

Hope this small tutorial will bring a smile to you........:)
