    Can't hide my files extentions


    Hello, I can't hide my files extentions even when I check
    "Hide extentions for known file types" in folder option.
    Every time I check it, it goes back again unchecked.
    What do I do?

We have Windows 7 on one of our office computers. However, I cannot figure out how to get the computer to automatically choose the appropriate program to open files. Every time we get a file in with a new extention, we have to browse and look for the program.....please help!
In Win 7 64 bit explorer, can I make it show me only folders or only files? Another way of saying this: can I make it hide folders, or hide files?
