Hello, I am having issues with Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) personalization, particularly the setting that allows transparency in the taskbar and window borders. When I first start my PC the windows and taskbar are usually the black transparent color that I have them set to, but after 30 seconds or so, Windows will revert to the basic theme (but still keep the wallpaper I have set, if that helps at all). After a few minutes of use the screen will flash and then Windows will set it back to my desired setting, and then after a few more minutes back to basic again, and then, finally, it switches to the transparent setting for good (unless I put it to sleep, when it is woken it will go through pretty much the same process again).
I doubt that this is a performance issue, as firstly I have activated a setting that is supposed to prevent Windows from "choosing what is best for me" and second I am using a relatively high performance custom built machine, with a 2500k (normally at 4.6 GHz but I downclocked it to factory when I began experiencing this issue as per general troubleshooting protocol), 16 Gb 1866 RAM, and a 2 Gb Sapphire 6850. I score a 7.7 on CPU, 7.6 on RAM, and 7.7 on both Aero and gaming performance in WEI. Any clues as to what's going on here?
