Upgrade from Windows 7 Basic to Windows 7 Premium

I bought my mother a new netbook that only had Windows 7 starter on it. We upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium using the extra Key on the bottom of my own laptop. The upgrade was verified as genuine and said that the computer would have all the benefits of Windows 7 Premium, but now we can not customize her background. We can not choose any background or apply themes. The key code was for my 64bit HP laptop computer and we used the code on a 32 bit Acer netbook. Would this have an affect on how it runs? Regardless of that, how do i fix this issue?

Please do this for the netbook:

    1. Download and save this tool to your desktop:
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

    2. Run the tool, and then click 'Copy' - ignore any errors if they appear

    3. Use CTRL+V to paste the unedited results of the validation tool here in your next reply

    Hi,

Wat do you mean by extra key on the bottom of the laptop - are you saying your laptop had 2 x COA stickers on the laptop?

You cannot use the COA key from one laptop, to activate an upgrade on another laptop - each OEM installation has a unique COA sticker and product key specific to it.
