Solved Setting the background colour of the drag and select box

Hi.
I'm on W7 home premium x64.

If I open up windows explorer, left click then drag and select objects, the selection box is blue.
If I do this on the desktop, the selection box is clear with a white border. But this was blue too up until recently. It changed overnight and I do not know how.

Does anyone know how to set the selection box background colour for the desktop?

I think I know what you need use this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1908-visual-effects-settings-change.html to get to the Performance Options and make sure there is a checkmark by Show translucent section rectangle that should give you the blue box again.

Thanks very much for that.
I already had that ticked - but being as this is windows - I unticked it which made no difference, and then ticked it again which brought the selection box back to life.

This is very useful for me because I quite often get artifacts left over from apps and a quick and easy way to get rid of them from the screen is the blue selection box.
