Yes PDN is what I use most, I'm still getting accustomed to CS6.

Thanks Gary. You may be right. I'm coming round to it. A translucent logo just looks weird.

I originally created it in CorelDraw which is a vector drawing tool ideal for creating simple patterns like this. You could do the same in Inkscape( a free vector drawing program) and I guess in Photoshop but my Photoshop skills are not up to it.

You just create a small circle and use the rotate tool to rotate and make copies about a larger radius to create a circle of circles. Once you have one set you can just duplicate and re-size to create the pattern.

To convert to a Photoshop Brush I exported from CorelDraw as a png file and in Photoshop selected the entire image and changed it into a Brush Preset (Edit->Define Brush Preset}. you can then save the preset as a Brush Set (abr file).
