Only one other app pops into mind: FilterForge. Interesting that there too the
save dialog has the fixed size. Open file requesters have that resize corner.

Zoltan - you are experiencing a problem with the offending app(s), not Windows 7. In time, the developers may adjust their apps to use the current (or correct) Windows APIs, but in the meantime, I think you have to deal with it.

As a workaround, you could try changing the view. Or opening files through Explorer instead of the app. Hopefully, the offending apps will force the file to open in the already running instance, and not open a new instance.

    Good luck.

I hope some adventurous Win7 user tries the hacks which work in
XP and post the results here.

I have the same issue with EVERY program in Win 7 when I use FILE-OPEN with IE 9

    Open the dialog box
    resize the window
open a file (as in, attach a picture to an email)

open the dialog box to attach another file
    the box is small again

    WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
