Mine is cs4. Do I have image ready ....
NO .. Image Ready is just an easy way to open an animated gif and get the individual frames.
Once Image ready has opened an animated gif ... I switch to the Photoshop editor.

In CS3 or CS4 .. To open an animated gif and get the frames ... You will have to Import it as a Movie.
How to open animated gifs in Photoshop CS4 Graphic Design Blog

If you have a 64 bit system ..
You will have to run Photoshop from the x86 folder .. To be able to Import a movie.
