Well, as am I actually... I have an idea, in keeping with the thread title; I'm not too happy with my sig at the moment. I like the image and colours, but I'm struggling a bit with getting the text to blend into the background the way I want it to. I was trying to make it look like the text was 'chisseled' out of the background, but it's not quite there yet.
I've got the PSD here if you're up to the challenge?
Hehe... Sweet. You'll find a zip file attached with the psd and two fonts I used. I'm curious to see what you can do with it...
Oh, and when you're done if you can either attach the psd again or tell me what you did; I'm always looking to learn more about PS and how to do certain things. For example, I've used PS for a good few years now, and only in the last few months have I really started to realise just how powerful the pen tool is... Slightly embarrassing actually, but it's true.
Not quite what I'm looking for... Lol. Let me see if I can explain this a bit better, it's a bit tricky.
Using an example would work better, in the attached image, I've added two text blocks and set nothing more than 'Bevel and Emboss' layer style with a 140 degree angle. However, the top one is set to 'Up' while the lower is set to 'Down' in the layer style properties (second attachment).
On a simple background such as this brushed steel plate, it's dead easy to do... That's no problem. I'm having difficulty with blending this in with a background that has both dark and light coluors. As you'll see in the PSD I gave you, I do have quite a few layers to get the effect I have currently. I was simply trying to get a very light shape of the text itself to give the 'indentation' a slightly more solid shape. But I couldn't get it quite right...
I hope that makes sense, it's a bit tricky to try put my thoughts into words sometimes. Lol.
