    Hey EarthBoundNess,

I basically had the exact same experience you did: I want a nice white bluetooth logo, to match my other tray-icons.

Have you found a solution? Have you also created a new icon?

Ok guys, be careful while fiddling around with the Bluetooth shit. If something stops working, look here for a solution: Bluetooth 'deleted' from Registry

Though keep fiddling! I still want to know which file contains the icon which appears in my notification area.

I think the icon is in the System32/bthprops.cpl ControlPanel file. I have not yet been able to change the icon in my tray though... Even after rebuilding the icon cache it doesn't change.

I was able to open it once I copied the file to another location. I then changed the icon and copied it back to System32. Turns out it wasn't it... As in, the tray-icon is still the same.

I know this thread is a few years old, but because I couldn't find a solution anywhere, I decided to write a step-to-step guide that describes how to change the Bluetooth tray icon and should work with most Win 7 systems. You can find it HERE. If you experience a problem, feel free to ask me!
