Dynamic Desktop for Information Display

Hi All

I currently have my users Desktops locked to a particular Wallpaper as per company standards, but what I would like to do is have some dynamic information displayed on this wallpaper aswell.

The first 2 items would be the Users Computer name and IP address, the last peace of information would be dynamic, basically I would update a text file on the network and the desktop info part would change according to what I put in the text file.

Is this possible and if so what is the best way to do this?

Cheers

Druid

Welcome to the Seven Forums.

This tool may help you to display some of what you want...

...I'm just not sure about how to display the info from the the text file on the network.

Can tell me a bit about what is in the network based text file?

You could try active desktop or widgets, but I don't know how to create/update either.
