    Start orb loader error

I downloaded this start orb loader from here Win7 Start Orb Loader v1.1.1 by ~stkov on deviantART and every time I apply it, it 'says windows configuration has stopped working'. I downloaded a different start orb changer before using the one in the link provided and successfully changed the orb after it prompted for UAC. It change desktop to my admin account and the start orb changed there but after logging off and back on to my standard user the orb was unchanged. So I deleted that program without changing the orb back to default. I also have custom desktop themes. chose this one because it doesn't modify the registry. Here are the errors
    C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp\WERE648.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
    C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp\WER26C2.tmp.mdmp
    C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp\WER5975.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
    C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp\WER8131.tmp.mdmp
    C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp\WERAB5B.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
    C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp\WERF622.tmp.mdmp

Try using this one - Windows 7 Start Orb Changer v5 by =Kishan-Bagaria on deviantART There is also an option to patch in the memory rather than editing the resources like you want

Change Windows 7 Start Orb with Windows 7 Start Button Changer

I have been using the one above for years without any problems. I would try it.

    NOTES:

    1. Before changing from one custom orb to another custom orb, I’d suggest you first Restore Original Explorer Backup and go back to the defaults and then change over to another custom orb.

    2. The program, must be run from its own Program Folder.

    3. Best to always create a System Restore point first. Should you face any issue, you can always restore back to a good point. Alternatively, copy-paste sfc /scannow in an elevated cmd. This will run the System File Checker and replace all corrupted system files with original system files.

    4. In the rare eventuality that you lose your explorer.exe, then from your desktop, press CTRL-SHIFT-ESC to bring up the Task Manager. Click File tab > New Task > Type cmd > Click Run. In the command prompt which opens, type sfc /scannow and hit enter. Restart when asked to.

    5. IF in x64 version, you receive an ‘unhandled exception‘ error, please click on Continue or try running it again ‘As an Admin‘.

    6. If the Start Button does not get changed, you may have to follow these steps:
    - Make sure that the program is closed.
    - Manually take ownership of “C:\Windows\explorer.exe” – or you can use our UWT to do so easily.
    - Run the program and select the orb. It should now work.

I have tried & tested it on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, personally and it works like a charm. Right click the program icon and ‘Run it as Admin’.

The download also includes some 10 Sample Start Orbs, whose creators have been duly credited there. If you need more, you can always search for them on DeviantArt on on the internet.

You can add all the orbs you want to the folder

Same here, just re installed it a couple weeks ago on a clean install. Did you place it on your desktop and run as admin?

No it is better if you run it from the same folder that you have your start orbs in.

Thanks for pointing that out Gary, yes I meant I put the folder on the desktop with the orbs and the program inside said folder.
