Where do you prefer your taskbar?

I've always had mine at the bottom and probably always will.

I don't know, I just don't see a reason to change it.

With your widescreen, HD monitor that totally makes sense. If I got a new monitor with that aspect ratio I would probably switch to that setup because it looks like you can fit a LOT on the taskbar.

^Let's just hope they don't do anything crazy to alienate that 1.6% who don't have it on the bottom.
They say around 400 Million people use Windows. Let's be conservative and say that only 100,000,000 will actually, eventually use the next version of Windows.

That's still approximately 1,600,000 people who don't have their task bar on the bottom.

I think that's a large enough number that they should put some consideration into alternate layouts so people don't have to worry about windows getting "stuck" behind the task bar or ghosting effects from minimizing/closing windows.

I am curious as to what percentage of the people surveyed had wide screen monitors.

I wish I could move the Start Orb to the opposite end of the taskbar. I am a left side taskbar user and would like the Start Orb to be/remain in the bottom left corner

I've tried experimenting with the tasbar in different locations. the taskbar on the right hand side faired quite well with me, however, it always...always goes back to the bottom, it just feels 'natural'!

Used to be if my taskbar was anywhere but the bottom just didnt seem right.

But, i've had it on the top for awhile now. Now that Im used to it, I really like it. Now putting it back to the bottom seems strange.

Have it at the left side. If I'm just using one monitor (like on a laptop), it has to be at the bottom though. But, seeing as I have so much horizontal real estate, I decided that I would put it at the left so I could read more of a webpage before scrolling, and I can't see myself ever putting it back.

I had it to the left side for a couple months back in '02 and I had it at the top for most of '08. The rest of the time, including now, I've left it at the bottom. When I'm used to it being at the top, it feels strange to use any other computer.

I just leave mine at the bottom, but I don't think it would really matter where it is, because I spend just about as much time using linux (which has taskbars on the top & bottom by default) as I do using windows, and I'm used to seeing lots of different types of desktop environments and UIs

I'm used to it... nowhere. Having the taskbar on autohide has always been a thing I like to do, been doing it since I started using XP. Lately I've been getting more used to Alt+Tab, so I just put it away completely.
