Where do you prefer your taskbar?

    I'm just curious.

For some reason I've always put my task bar at the very top. I've never really even used Macs very much but I just like the task bar at the top.

Unfortunately Windows and software developers do NOT accommodate me. In XP I constantly had issues with programs starting up and their top halfs being BEHIND the task bar so I had to Space+Alt to get them down. If the task bar is at the bottom the programs don't start in the highest part of the screen so I can only assume they did it on purpose. Another problem was that when I close a file in Photoshop the top menu bar gets jacked up and I see a ghost of it until I open a new file.

I haven't noticed any issues with Windows 7 yet but I've only used iTunes and Firefox thus far.

I always kept my taskbar on the bottom. However, today, quite by accident, I realized that I could put my taskbar on my second monitor. How that escaped me, I will never know.

Now I have it set up on the left side of my second monitor, which is sitting to the right of my main. I love it because it gives me a little more real estate on my main monitor, and gives my second monitor something to do when I'm not doing work.

I like it on the bottom, mainly because that's where it has been since I started to use computers and us old farts try to resist change,
Perhaps one of these days i might try another position (my wife want's me to all the time) sorry I digress.

^Yeah I usually don't like change either. I have no idea why I originally switched it to the top but I did it once and it just stuck.

Strangely I can only associate it with my home computer. Whenever I went to school and used the computers I was fine with the taskbar on the bottom and I didn't like it when I thought to put it on the top.

I was pretty ticked off that they did away with taskbars that could be pinned to the side of the screen. In XP I use a taskbar at the bottom with short cuts as an alternative to a dock. However, I'm enjoying the new task bar a lot. Being able to pin stuff to it is actually very similar and it keeps things more organized.

I wish I could do a dual-monitor set up. I just can't afford to buy another monitor :P

^Oh that was a screenshot picture, not a signature.

I like some of the new 7 skins that people have made but I'm really attached to Aero right now.

I would like to be able to make my own Task Bars, like I could in XP or Vista ..
So I could add them to my primary or second monitor .. But W7 will not let me

It makes no sense to me, to only be able to make a new Task Bar .. in the W7 Task Bar

I have it at the bottom. I read it somewhere in an article about CEIP that 97% of those who selected to send usage data to Microsoft have it at the bottom.

This is the only place that seems natural to me.

In wide screen, I place it on the left. In 4:3, I keep it on the bottom.
