    HURRAH!!!

I finally worked out how to embed a GIF file into a sig. All the tuts I found were telling me how to create a GIF, not how to actually use one in an image. And the one I found that did, didn't work properly, I had to muck about a bit.

Please click on the image to view the animation. Note that this isn't intended as a usable sig, merely a test-bed for the GIF experiment.

NB: The original GIF is not my work.

SF sig finally fixed, and Betty's dress is now working properly.

It's a shame, though, that I did most of the experimenting and learning on the EF version, then found I couldn't use it. All good, though, I used the same method to finish this one off, and it now appears to be working fine.

Now, a question for the 'boffins'... Is there a (relatively easy, simple?) way to import a GIF into a sig, rather than building the sig around the GIF? GIFs don't seem to like being moved at all, even within their own borders, and either don't work at all, or make the rest of the sig jerk around the screen in time to the GIF.

I only worked out how to do this today, and am doubtless making heaps of blunders, but I do think it looks quite good. I do think I prefer the green a little more than the blue, tho.

    Onwards and upwards...

    Very good animation Wenda

Thanks, Bongo, but the GIF is not my work, it came from the net. I'd used a single frame from it before, but decided to try to get the whole GIF to work in a sig, successfully as it turned out. But I didn't actually create the GIF.

OK GFX geeks, time to pimp my sig.

I want to keep the colors, black gradiently to whisky brown (now at the bottom right). I also want to keep the main elements:
    • Flag and logo orbs
    • Forum name, my motto
    • Whisky
    • My name
    • Cigar and its smoke

No SF badges in the sig.

As I identify myself in my ex-pat life more as a Finnish - Saxon than Finnish - German, I would like to keep the Finnish flag orb and blue white Windows logo orb but change the German flag orb to Saxon. I will include the flag of the State of Saxony at the end of this post with other needed material.

I am very satisfied with Arc's work with this sig, I just feel it's time to revamp it. Here some ideas of mine:I would be very pleased if you would like to try, even though I will and cannot promise I will use your sig; I do not swap sigs every now and then, I only use one for a longer period meaning I select the best in my eyes and use it exclusively.

    Here some material needed:

Orbs (Finland and Windows) and flag of Saxony (no orb available):Samples of a nosing glass:

    OK, thanks in advance!

ok, i had a go kari but found it too difficult to stay to the brief.
basically i couldnt do one the same as archies as it would just have been a copy , a badly done one at that.
so i went a different direction, not sure if its any good to you,
some bits are good other bits im not sure about but see what you think and maybe we can come up with something ...

Nice Colin, but no animation when applied?
Yeah, I dont know why...it was just Julians sig he did for me, and I followed a link to the site and messed around a bit. Not sure why the animation is lost

    its because its 650 x 150, not 649 x 149.
resize it on the gif site before saving.

here is a revised sig for kari, using the finish blue color and not the saxony green which was a bit of an oversight.

I like this one. The first one, too but the Finnish Blue & White is better, suits me better than the Saxon Green & White.

Julian, amazing work! Please do not misunderstand my question now, I am completely satisfied with this but want to ask if you have any ideas how this could be made Black & Whisky Brown - Gold rather than Blue & White? And adding some smoke?

Anyway, a satisfied customer. Sig changed, rep given. Thank you :).

EDIT, a minute later: S***! Julian, I need to spread the joy before repping you. It's coming...
