    Excel Icons

Excel 2010 offers many icons to attach to macros assigned to the QuickLaunch bar and the Ribbon. Is there any way I can use thes icons in other applications by exporting them to a folder\file or some other process. That assumes the other applications have a way to import them. I would like to use a few of them in Open/Libre Office's Calc and I know I can import icons individually if they exist as png files somewhere in a folder.

    Thank you very much

Almost assuredly the icons are located in the EXCEL.EXE file. Navigate to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14 if your Windows is 64 bit, or

    C:\Program Files\Programs\Office 2010\Office14 if it is 32 bit

    Locate the EXCEL.EXE

You could use a resource extractor to get them, but Nirsoft has an easy tool called IconsExtract that will do it for you easier.

IconsExtract - Extract icon/cursor stored in EXE, DLL, OCX, CPL files

    These are icons though.
