Autorun after mounting a truecrypt volume?
First of all hello!
Nice to be a part of the community, just noticed around 12k people online! :O
I hope this is in the correct section! If not could an admin please move it, I really couldn't figure out the best place to post this thread.
I will ignorantly presume that you know what truecrypt is if you clicked this thread
TrueCrypt - Free Open-Source On-The-Fly Disk Encryption Software for Windows 7/Vista/XP, Mac OS X and Linux if you need a refresher
Anyhow I have a Truecrypt volume that I mount with a simple Icon on my desktop that has the following target:
"C:\Program Files\TrueCrypt\TrueCrypt.exe" /v "C:\VM7" /lz /b /a /e
This then pop's up a lovely little box that asks for my password, once entered it will mount it as a Z: drive ( /lz ) makes a beep ( /b ) and opens an explorer ( /e )
That is all fine, However I then want to do the following
Within my truecrypt container is a Virtual Machine image, I am currently running this by clicking another shortcut on my desktop with the following target:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware.exe" -x "Z:\Windows 7\Windows 7.vmx"
I know this is mad lazy, I do not want to have to click more than one god damn icon!
I have thought about autorun.inf however I am unsure if;
A, Autorun is even active in Windows 7 Ultimate 64
B, Will it even behave properly as it is detected by windows as a HDD not a USB driver etc.
Someone suggested running a batch file that mounts the volume then issued the wait command and then a few seconds later execute the Virtual Machine image, I understand this would work, but it just feels a sloppy way to do it.
I hope this is clear to someone, As I think I may have just confused myself further! :P
Any help/constructive criticism would be great!
