    Gadgets on top

I really used to like my Vista sidebar because I could always see all my gadgets. Although it is easy to tweak the sidebar into Windows7, some of my favorite gadgets do not work in x64 (only in x86).
So I put some available gadgets (Windows7 style) above the taskbar. Unfortunately they disappear when I open a window. But there is help: With WIN Key+G they appear on top and disappear again with the next click.

Thanks for that one. I swear, I will never learn all the keyboard shortcuts, or by the time I do, MS will come out with 100 more. Come to think of it, they're a lot like Pokemon.

If you right click on a gadget and or look though it's menus you "should" see an "always on top" option. Check it and it's supposed to stay on top of other windows. I've had one or two that it didn't seem to work all the time though. I guess it just depends on how well the app is coded in the first place.
The hard part, at least for me, is remembering all these keyboard shortcuts. I have them written down in a text document but it kind of defeats the purpose if I have to open the document to look them up. I guess though if I use them enough I'll eventually start to remember some of them. :)

That is correct. The "always on top" option is there. Problem is that the gadgets are not in a dedicated space like the sidebar was and interfere with the pages you pull up.
I think this shortcut is relatively easy to remember because it is "G" like Gadget.
