How to bypass 256kb filesize limit on customs login screens.
Firstly, I know how to change the windows 7 login screen. However, with the built in ability for OEM custom login screens, there is a file size limit of 256kB, which is trash quality for a high resolution screen.
I came across these promising instructions here Is there a way to bypass the 256 kB limit for a custom Windows 7 login screen?
I think that this will work but I have noticed one problem. I used Resource Hacker to extract the image resources, and I see the login screen in a bunch of resolutions, but 1920x1080 is not one of them.
How do I get a > 256kB 1080p login screen?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
EDIT: Ok for anyone with the same issue, I've got it now, you just have to replace resource 5038 under images for 1080p, just replace it with a 1080p image.
