Fuzzy Wallpapers

I have noticed this for the longest of times. Whenever I would use a wallpaper no matter what resolution or size it would seem fuzzy on my desktop. I always uses Resolutions equal or greater than my native resolution.

The wallpaper could be crystal clear 1080P HD and it would seem like someone sprinkled artifacts and fuzzy sauce all over my wallpapers.

Even my own custom wallpapers are fuzzy and they are crystal clear when I make and save them. I have to Save them in a certain way in photoshop for them to be clear. When I download a nice clear wallpaper I have to open it in Photoshop and save it in a certain way or it will be fuzzy on the desktop. And after I set it as the wallpaper one time it will become fuzzy again if I set the same file I just made clear as the wallpaper a second time.

Why do I have to re-save everywallpaper I use in photoshop over as a new JPEG? I have examples below:

You will have to enlarge them and have a good eye to see the difference. Look at the outline, her red shirt and her necklace and you will see the major differences.

Fuzzy ~

Clear ~

I was flipping back and forth between the two in order to get a perfect comparison, and I discovered that it's more than just fuzzy; look at her left shoulder (the one that's in the shade). It looks like a typical low-quality JPG to me. I don't know what can be done, but maybe try changing around the "Picture position" setting. So try Fill, Fit, Stretch, Tile, and then Center.

The thing is if I did not explain clearly enough. If I save the "Fuzzy" image in photoshop as a super high quality jpeg it looks perfect when I set it as the background. However if I change my wallpaper and then change back to the super high quality wallpaper it again becomes fuzzy even though I already saved it in high quality format. So I have to resave it once more.

This goes for any wallpaper that I have. If someone saved a high quality image and I download it. I will have to resave it as a high quality wallpaper again.

Whoa. So somehow, your installation of Windows is lowering the quality of these images!

How are you setting the image as your wallpaper? I think if you right click an image and select set as wallpaper then it degrades the picture. But if you set it through Personalization it does not (normally)

As a test, try installing Irfanview (a great program to have regardless ). Open one of your images in Irfanview> Options> Set as wallpaper> Centered

See if the same degradation happens.
