Permanent folder icons on external hard drive

Goodevening! I hope you can help me.
I'm not really good with computer stuffs so please bear with me

i just bought an external hd and want to customize the default folders so it will look a little lively. hehe
i know how to change the icon, what i want to learn is how can i retain the icon even if i connect it to different computer, like when im going to copy a file from my friends laptop, cousin's desktop etc etc.
not just one folder, i want to change all of my folder icons.

    thank you and good day!

You want ALL folders have the same icon? You also want to change drive icon (icon of root folder)?
Did you make the icon yourself or is it an icon already built-in windows?

If I understand you correctly you have a external hard drive and you want the same icon to show up when you plug it in to any computer laptop or desktop, if so look at Option 1 of this tutorial should do what you want Drive Icon - Change

I have a USB thumb drive I have set up that way no matter what computer I plug it into it has the same icon.

sorry if you dont understand me very much..
i dont want to change my driver icon.
what i want to change is the folder icons INSIDE the external drive..
i know how to change them, (right click, properties..etc)
my problem is.. when i connect my external into other computers/laptops, the icons are gone. its only showing the blank default folder.

As a test try what I posted in Post #3 Permanent Custom Folder Icon? you will have to move(Ctrl + x) not copy and paste(Ctrl + v) the folder to your external drive, it should work then.
