Windows 7 - Preview Desktop

Preview Desktop

When you move your mouse to the bottom right hand side of the taskbar, the open windows become transparent and you can see the desktop. I thought this feature was really cool and liked it a lot. I have now gotten my desktop slide-show to stick around for a lot longer than before (Still trying to get it to stay forever) but I noticed I can no longer preview the desktop by simply hovering my mouse over the bottom right hand of the screen. Preview desktop is still selected, I already tried deselecting it and selecting it again but the windows still will not become transparent like they used to. Does this feature disable when you have the desktop slide-show enabled? Can anyone shed some light on this?

The only thing I can think of is if you have an ease of access theme on instead.

No I have a custom aero theme with completely transparent borders. I have a background set now (No slide-show) but it still won't work. dwm is running..

The only visual settings I have disabled are:
Animate controls and elements inside windows
Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing
Save taskbar thumbnail previews
Show shadows under mouse pointer
Show translucent selection rectangle (Which is BS because in explorer the selection rectangle is still the blue translucent, not the simple dotted lines)

My WEI score is 3.0 (My hard drive sucks apparently?)
Processor 4.9
RAM 5.3
Graphics 4.9
Gaming graphics 4.5

Like I said it was working before, and now I noticed it's not working anymore. I don't know exactly when it stopped working or why.

Have you re enabled all the visual effects and see if it comes back on?

That's the very first thing I would do too.

I have a slideshow wallpaper too, with a bunch of personal ones I've added, and my Preview still works fine so I doubt that's the cause.

Re-enable all the visual items you personally disabled and reboot, tell us if that gets it working again or not.

Yeah, it's most likely these two.
Animate controls and elements inside windows
Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing

Yea its the animate controls and elements inside windows.

Which SUCKS, because I hate the little white squares that are shown when copying/deleting/moving files.

Why did they have to merge the preview desktop into there!?

On my system it is " Enable Desktop Composition " which also turns
off the transparency.

Thanks for the help, This thing was driving me nuts!
