Does anyone know how to change this....

I can`t seem to change this ( the circled area in shot #1 ) every time I reboot, it`s back to square 1 again, it just won`t stick. It`s not a big deal, but would like to make it stick.

I change it in regedit ( shot #2 ) but after the reboot it`s back to it`s original specs again. As it were.

This is not the info shown on the Computer Properties page, I`ve already changed that through regedit ( shown in shot #3 )

    Thanks, Brian

Sorry to tell you, but it's a hardware lookup.

Unfortunately, the information in those fields in the registry are populated by the system through things like dxdiag & msinfo, while that page refers to those fields in the registry; the information is pulled by those apps from the motherboard's BIOS. There's no simple way to fix it, certainly nothing in the registry (without breaking the system's own lookup/edit). The correct way to change it would be to edit the BIOS, but often that's not a choice. Since it's showing you "System Manufacturer" and "System Product Name", the motherboard/system manufacturer decided to not fill in that info in the BIOS. So, you're basically stuck.

I'm assuming that even though you're changing the entries in the registry that it still doesn't show up when you load the "More Details" page like above. If it does change what is displayed (which it doesn't on mine) then you could just run a batch registry edit at boot. But like I said, I doubt your edits show up (even though a reboot would reset them), so that's probably not a solution.

Here are some other people trying the same thing:

msinfo32.exe system information incorrect info, how to edit it?

You'll probably not find a solution for this -- unless you delve into BIOS editing.

EDIT: However, your listed motherboard MAY have editing tools. Do some googling and check the Asus support page for what BIOS editing/updating features it has.

The Asus tool may allow you to do the edit from Windows, or you may have to use a DOS tool like DMIConfig.exe IF your board is supported.
