I'm currently having the same problem as the OP, however the registry values did not fix it. I've restarted countless times, used a different reg hack to reset the paths in the drop down menu, and tried system restoring. NOTHING. What caused the problem (I think) was that while my desktop was displaying backgrounds from a folder, I moved that folder to a different location. Thats when I tried to select the folders new location and it stopped working. Not just for that folder either, for every folder. I've searched everywhere for a solution but so far nothing. Any ideas guys?

I have the same problem as the first poster in this thread.

    1. I click "browse..." to find the folder with images for the background slideshow.
    2. Select the folder i want to use.
    3. Click "Ok".
    (see the steps screenshot)

It then closes the 'Browse For Folder' window but nothing else happens. (see the result screenshot)

I have tried adding the registry entries but this does not help.
A system restore isn't an option because it has been a while since i first noticed it.
I have tried sfc /scannow but this reported that there were no problems.

Thanks in advance for any help

I have found the fix to my problem.

On another forum i found one sentence which i tried and it worked.

Simply "Restore Default Libraries" in windows explorer. (see the attachment)

I'm also having this problem. I don't understand what is meant in the post about the registry. Do I copy paste all of those into the registry? What type of key/value do I add? Do I delete something?

I second this sentiment exactly, I have no experience in Registry editing, and I am wary to do so, but this issue is vexing me enough to want to look into it. If perhaps a tutorial or crash-course of some kind were made available, or even better an alternative solution to the Slideshow-Library issue were presented, there would be much rejoicing.
