Auto Hide Taskbar only when a window is maximized

I do not know if this is possible but ever since I switched to windows 7 it seems to me the task bar takes up an annoying amount of space and just throws off the flow when I'm reading websites. I could set the taskbar to autohide but I like the taskbar to be up at all times except when a window is maximized.

What I want to know is if it is possible to only turn on autohide taskbar when a window is maximized but have it show at all other times?

Also if someone knows how to remove the picture library from the desktop background drop down list that would also be greatly appreciated, thanks for the help.

I don't think you can setup the taskbar in that fashion (unfortunately). Try checking 'small icons' in the taskbar properties if you don't like the new big taskbar!
I'm not too sure you can delete he pictures folder either.......could be wrong.

Yeah I tried the small icon setting but when I'm not maximized I like the bigger icons, I think it has to do with the way Windows 7 keeps the taskbar transperant even when a window is maximized, I remember vista would darken the taskbar so it didn't just look like empty space at the bottom of the window the way 7 does it just makes it look weird to me and makes my eyes focus on it when I'm trying to read something. Thanks for the help maybe I will just have to get used to the auto-hide at all times.
