Add SevenForums shortcut to context menu

Here's how to add a shortcut to SevenForums in your desktop right click context menu.

Add SevenForums shortcut to context menu-context-menu.jpg

    Open Registry Editor:

    Start> Run then type

    regedit

    Press ENTER

    Then navigate to:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell

Create a new KEY (Right click Shell then choose create new key)
Rename the new KEY to Seven Forums

Add SevenForums shortcut to context menu-shell.jpg

Right click on the Seven Forums KEY and create a new SUBKEY giving it the name command

Add SevenForums shortcut to context menu-command-2.jpg

Select command and in the right pane modify the default value by double clicking (Default) and enter the Value:

    "C:\Program Files\Cyberfox\Cyberfox.exe" "https://www.sevenforums.com"
replacing the "C:\Program Files\Cyberfox\Cyberfox.exe" part of the above with the full path to your browser's executable.

You can also change the display position to a choice of Top, Middle or Bottom by highlighting the Seven Forums KEY and in the right pane right click to create a new String Value with the Value name Position and Value data Top (or Middle or Bottom).

Use the same method to add an icon.

Add SevenForums shortcut to context menu-icon.jpg

Highlight the Seven Forums KEY and in the right pane right click to create a new String Value with the Value Name Icon and for Value Data enter the full path to your desired icon.

    Example: D:\icons\Favicons\sf.ico

    Close the Registry Editor.

    Hi,
I'm not quite sure why one would need this shortcut,
In many browsers all a user would need to do is drag the url address to the desktop to create a shortcut to a particular page or thread ?
    Cheers.

Nobody needs it, others who like to customize to their desired wants may find it useful.

Yes you are right of course! I just like to keep my desktop clear of clutter. I suppose that using the browser bookmarks menu is just as good. On the other hand this shortcut method could be used for just about anything that's frequently used.

    Best.

Thanks I suppose if anyone didn't use the taskbar/ "which can also pin sites to it as well" or want to open a browser first to get to a place where existing shortcuts on a Favorites bar... could find a simple right click a way to get to SevenForums or any website a little more stream lined,
I guess I just didn't get the vision from the brief introduction in the question,
Got it now thanks for offering it,
    Cheers.
