change the mouse pointer to a yellow circle around the pointer!

    hi!

I am using win 7 home edition.I have changed the cursor with a yellow circle and have named the file to unnamed.cur.After i have changed the default cursor to the one with the yellow circle and have saved it.But after i reboot the system the cursor does not change to the pointer with the yellow circle but it goes back to the normal pointer.I have put the customized pointer in the c:/windows/cursors folder but when apply it still does not apply the changes to it.I am using windows 7 home basic.

    Help would be appreciated.

The way I have change cursors is to treat them like a system file you need to take ownership give yourself permission and rename the original cursor with a .bak in the name and then copy and paste the custom cursor with the original cursor's name into C:\Windows\Cursors folder. Take a look at Post #6 of this thread will tell you how to do it Basic Networking Information

Then you will need to reboot.
