    question on desktop display

I currently have a United States slideshow theme for my desktop background, but would really like to have pictures of family members in a slide show. I was able to do this on my old Win XP pc but have had no success in doing it on the new Win 7 pro.
When I do succeed in displaying a single photo it is much too large for the screen and is not only distorted but displays on a portion of the photo. I have tried reducing the size of the photo with a photo editor but to no avail - the size is not reduced on the monitor?

What am I doing wrong - can someone suggest a remedy?

FDM, what photo editing program are you using? I have been using IRFANVIEW for quite a few years and it does everything perfectly, and is free.

I can only tell you what I do.

My monitor is set to 1600 x 900 resolution. I have my taskbar at the bottom of the screen.

Allowing for the taskbar height, I resize each picture manually to 1600 x 837 in Photoshop and save them as Tiffs. With those dimensions, the picture is full screen wide and sits right on top of the taskbar.

I then put them all in a folder called wallpaper on my D drive. I set the desktop background to shuffle them every 3 hours using the "tile" picture position in the dropdown list.

    Hello Frank,

You might see if using the Fit "Picture position" may allow the image to look better.

Hope this helps for now, :)
