Messagebox color pink...any way to change it?

Besides going to non aero that looks like windows 98, is there a way to change the message box color? Actually i know there is because mine has been a different color forever till today wen i updated my video drive and installed direct x and C++ automatically when i installed a game. Not sure what did it, but now all areas such as this very typing field i'm typing this in and the background color of my bookmarks menu or favorites In IE is a irritating pale pinkish color. I have tried all kinds of themes and everything imaginable in the personalization within W7. The window appearance dialog window has the color picker greyed out when you choose message box.

Like i said, i had it a different color since i installed 7 probably 4 years ago till now, but i just can't figure out how i arrived at that.

ok, then if no one knows maybe you'll know this...my PC at work is the same os and no pink messagebox color. What files if any could i take home and swap out to make my home PC's colors and all the same look? No idea how my work pc accomplishes the greyish color instead of pink, as i've looked at all the settings and tyried some changes and can't find the difference.

    Right tick on your desktop.
    Select Personalize.
    Then tick Widows Colors.
    Then tick Advanced Appearance settings.
    Then tick on Items.

In Items you will find message and color choices.

If that doesn't solve your problem then it is probably caused by by what ever you just installed and I have not idea how to help you with that.

I've done at that. I suppose it must be the video driver i installed. But Id still like to know what files if any i can take from my work pc to try and swap on my home pc that might be responsible for all the various colors used in windows.

Did a search referring to amd drivers and the word pink. Got a forum thread somewhere and it does indeed appear that if you don't use a driver cleaner with AMD drivers the result has been for some if mnot many people the same pink hue to the menu backgrounds. Guess thats what did it, so i'll have to find a driver cleaner then reinstall my card driver.

Other member may be able to help you there if they new your System Specs.
Two tutorials that should help you install your specs into My System Specs.

    My Recommendation is to:

Uninstall your installed latest version of the display driver.

Then clean up any possible leftover.

You may want to forget about the driver version you just updated to if it caused problems.

If this is a laptop, you may want to stick to the manufacturer's drivers.

The system specs Layback recommended would be a great help.

As i said last, i decided to do a clean uninstall of the display driver and that worked. I used a app called display driver uninstaller and it not only fixed that issue, but the catylist control center hasn't worked and would always give me a error during driver install since about 3 drivver updates ago. So i have that back too. Great app...it guided me thru w/o leaving me with questions as to what i should do and it did the job quick. Automatically rebooted into safe mode to do it's thing then rebooted to windows normally where i installed the driver again. Good stuff...

Glad you got it sorted, that app was in the second link I posted as well.

Filling in your specs will always come in handy the next time you need help.
