Open all docs from previous Windows session

Is it possible to save all open documents and browser pages to reopen in the next session of Windows ?

Sometimes (late at night) I run out of mental dexterity.
To close the PC down for overnight or several days I must make a written note (usually a text file) of all open documents and save all open tabs in my browser. Including multiple windows of my browser tabs.

Most docs (txt files) do not display the file path, and to locate the holding folder of all open files can be rather complex.
I do not want to leave the PC/laptop running overnight and on some occasions for several days.
The laptop battery is limited to how long it can maintain sleep before the laptop dies all together.
(Been there, done that)

Would appreciate any advice :)

Hibernation should do that without using the battery.

Hibernation is not the method I want to use.
Sometimes I may not come back to a project for days or weeks on end, and in the meantime the PC is used for other "projects".

I vaguely remember in Win-9x days something like this was available. I never used it but if it still exists (or even 3rd party software) ... I would like to find where and how.

I don't know about your browser's tabs (if it is close enough to Firefox, you can use the bookmark all tabs feature - right click over a tab, click "bookmark all tabs..." and at load time, right click the bookmark folder and press "open all in tabs" or something similar), as for saving and loading processes (something like creating an arbitrary amount of "Windows state bookmarks" and loading them on the fly), as far as I'm aware of, I'm afraid you can only accomplish that by running a number of virtual machines.
Of course, it you're only interested in starting the application and the file that it is running, and not real recall of memory state, I suppose it would be possible to code something that extracts the file in use from all existing "taskbar present" programs, save the screenshot into a file and load it by running the programs again with the given files.
