Windows 7: Cannot get all subfolders to display in details view

Cannot get all subfolders to display in details view

I would like every single folder on my system to always open in detail view
Have followed tutorials but unsuccessful in getting this to work consistently

If your asking what i think you are, Windows Explorer has a default setting for every directory, which means you have to change each one to what you would like it preset to.


Maybe using a file manager such as 7Zip Manager would be more relevant to what you are trying to achieve?

Hello Husaberger,

Check to see if setting a default folder view for all folders using the tutorial below using the General Items folder template for details may help.

Was already set to General Items but checking Also apply this template to all subfolders did the trick

Two more questions Brink...
1. Is it possible to get the Percent Full option on Details view to stick?
2. What in your opinion is the best way to view folder size? (I use Mindgems Folder Size which is ok)

Q1) Not sure what you mean by "Percent Full" option?

Q2) I usually just look at the properties of the folder to see it's size.

Ah, I see. The "Percent Full" column is only available in the "Computer" window, and not any other folder.
