How to get C: Folder on my taskbar

No matter what I do, Windows wants to put the Library Folder in my taskbar when all I want is a yellow folder icon of my C: drive on my taskbar. Right now, if I try to drag
my C: drive of files to the taskbar, it ends up putting that yellow folder icon of the Library.

How can i drag C: drive to my taskbar and not have it end up being the Library folder icon?
I want to be able to click on a yellow folder icon in the task bar and have it open up my files, not the damn Library.

You can put it in 'quick launch'.

Thanks for the reply, but wow, just wow. All that to do what Vista or XP could do in 2 seconds. WTF?

Yup. It's not that much to do. You can always just press the Win key+E as well if you wanted a quick way to open it up.

Thanks again, I'm getting there. I now can click on the folder icon and it will open up my C: drive with a list of all drives and such.

However, I wish it to open my Local Folder C: directly so I don't have to do another mouse click.

What command do I add to the shortcut command string to have it open directly to my list of folders in C: (instead of showing Drive C: with all my drives and such and then having to click on Local Folder C:

Is there a command to add at the end of the string to make it do that?

    Right now it looks like this: %windir%\explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, C:\

I want it to look like this upon clicking the taskbar yellow folder icon.

umm, problem not solved, yet posted so

With XP and Vista, I could drag my C: folder to the taskbar. When clicking it, it would open like this:

This is the best I can do now with Windows 7 and the advice given before the thread was dismissed as having been solved, when it wasn't:

Here is the original post by me. I've recieved no additional replies since it was deemed "solved."

    %windir%\explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, C:\Local

    That should work

Thanks ppl. SOLVED. I typed in the string you gave in Google and found examples of other command lines.

    I USED: %windir%\EXPLORER.EXE /e,c:

    From the site GeekswithBlogs.net

"Here are some pointers on how to use Windows Explorer, in Microsoft Windows XP Professional from the Command Line".

To have C: open (No folders)

    %SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe /root, C:\

    To have My Computer

    C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /n

To have C: open expanded - Examples

    %windir%\EXPLORER.EXE /e,c:
    %windir%\EXPLORER.EXE /e,f:\Limited Documents

To have C: open and My Documents

    %windir%\EXPLORER.EXE /e,c:,%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%\My Documents

For it to open to My Documents:

    explorer /n,/e,%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%\My Documents or
    C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /n,/e,%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%\My Documents

To have My Documents open only (No folders)

    Explorer /root, c:\Documents and Settings\%username%\My Documents
    Explorer /root, c:,%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%\Kelly's Computer

If you wish to have Explorer open at My Documents on another drive, you would use:

    %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e, f:\My Documents

To have another Drive letter assigned to opening: D for example

    C:\Windows\Explorer.exe /e, d:\

d:\ can be modified for any folder/sub-folder you like. As in:

    %SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe /e,d:\My Stuff

The /e switch tells Windows Explorer to open in the two pane explorer mode and the c:\ tells it to open in folder C:\. If you omit the /e switch, Windows Explorer opens in a single pane view.
