    Desktop Icon on Quick Start

    Greetings,

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to put the desktop icon (the one that when you click on it it shows the desktop) on the quickstart bar.

I found the icon by searching for it, but when I drag it to the quickstart it says, "pin desktop to Windows Explorer?" which I do not want to do, I want to pin it to the quickstart so I have one-click access to the desktop.

Can anyone suggest how to do this?

    Thank you.

I noticed the below post is the only one not responded to since yesterday. Have I posted in the wrong section? If so, can someone direct me to the right section to post in?

Or is it just impossible to get to the desktop with one click in Windows 7?

    Thank you.

    The functionality is already there:

How to Show Desktop in Windows 7 (Quick Launch Alternative) My Digital Life

If that doesn't do it for you...and if you truly want the old icon, you can enable the quick launch toolbar:

Windows 7: Restore Quick Launch Toolbar | Windows 7 Customization | Windows Tools, Help & Guides

(which is also a good place to pin the recycle bin)

There may be better sources for this info...but those are the first two links that showed up in Google for me :)

    cheers,
