Well, that didn't work. You all do understand what I am saying, don't you? What I am trying to do is restore my default taskbar icons to factory settings. Is there not a tool to do it, or something in the command prompt to do it?

I am just going to create another user account, to see the default icons. I am sorry if I upset you. I just don't understand some of these things.

See what this does probably nothing,
Thumbnail Cache - Clear and Reset

How's the new admin user account ?
Well at least you learned to change an existing icon you should not delete it all you need to do is change it,
    Taskbar Pinned Icons - Change

Programs with the icon issue can be uninstalled and re-installed and the icon should be fixed,
Bing desktop search is a windows update
So if it's not listed in Programs and features/ Uninstall a program look on the top left "View Installed Updates" and it should be listed there,

Windows media player and windows explorer ?
Hopefully the new user account will solve that issue and all you'll need to do is transfer your personal files over to it,
    Cheers.

    No problem,
I'm guessing the new user account did the trick ?
Always try to work on one machine at a time and everything should be good to go :)

Okay. I had to get in touch with Microsoft about the Windows 8.1 computer. Some virus had crept up without me knowing and corrupted some files on it. They fixed it! What antivirus program do y'all recommend? I was using AVG, but they recommended Trend Micro. Trend Micro costs, and I am not one to pay for a lot of things like that. I'm using Windows Defender (MSE) right now on it. They won't help me with the Win 7 computers because their 1 year warranty is up. So, I am going to need someone to help me check for viruses and threats on them and show me how to remove them. I know about computers, but I don't know how to fix them once they get a virus.

I find it odd Mocrosoft would recommend TrendMicro...
MSE yes but if you want a free antivirus Panda cloud is looking pretty good to me,

I use MSE too but I also use the Not free version of Malwarebytes as well

As a free scanner I also use this free one,

    Good security combination,
