Is there a definitive fix now for 7 as XP folder icons closed&open ?

Hi,
I am getting totally bemused by attempts to fix win7 explorer view, I want closed folder and open folder icons as in XP, not all looking as open folder icons, what twat thought of that.
Folk are seeking the ability to have the flat folder with four images sampled from whats inside, placed on the cover .

Is there a definitve fix to each of these now existing ?

....and is there a way of getting to the idiot who decided to mess up explorer ?

Msoft can do just what they like and there is nothing we can do except spend weeks trying to fix their meddling.

I have been with new 7 PC coming from XP 3 solid weeks trying to get operational. Cost that one out !!!!!

You'll probably need to download and install a custom XP icon pack to do that, but I've never done it before so I can't help you much with that.

Automatically move closed taskbar icons to
