Most of the non-default progam folders in my Start Menu are empty...

Hi there. I actually raised this topic a few months ago, but didn't manage to get a solution. I have tried all the things suggested by people on various sites, including this one. Let me just say that I haven't had a virus, but I DO use CCleaner and Advanced System Care.

When I click on Start -> All Programs, I can see that many (but not all) of my program folders are empty. I first noticed this quite a while ago, but never bothered doing anything about it because I have icons for the programs I regularly use on my desktop. But I would like to fix this problem now if possible. All of the programs involved function without problems.

I should also point out that I cannot delete the empty folders, even if I (theoretically) have administrator privileges. This seems to suggest that the issue is linked to security.

Advanced System Care causes more problems than one could post in a week.

A bigger problem is no one knows what A.S.C. moves, removes, deletes or adds so it is almost impossible to repair with out a Clean Install. I know you have had this problem before and I gave the same answer then as I do now.
And yet you have A.S.C. with the same problem.

I have reached this opinion by reading many post with people having problems.

most of my start menu program folders are empty

Have a nice day.

Hello Layback Bear, and thanks for your reply.

I remember that you replied to my earlier post, and that you are not a fan of ASC; I did actually remove it at that time.

I don't really want to enter into a discussion concerning ASC, because everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. Many people do use it, and there is nothing to prove that it is the cause of my problem.

I am actually more inclined to think the empty folders have something to do with the security preferences, since I cannot delete them nor change their settings so as to gain administrator privileges (which I should already have).

Start Menu empty
My Start Menu......Once was populated but now is vacant. I'm not aware of any action of mine that has caused the original list to disappear. Items can still be added to the menu if I choose to do so. Any ideas on why this may have occurred?
